Artist Statement
My work expresses the drama of a scene or a thought which leads the viewer to guess at the story behind these impressions. I love the challenge ofdrawing or creating the living, breathing, continuously moving landscape of the human body. And I use both strong color and value to enhance the drama of the story in my paintings.
My 3 dimensional works are mixed media & assemblage pieces frequently combining wood, metal, clay, paper, paint, fabric and found objects with hand sculpted clay or fabric images of the face and the figure. Frequently there is a “tongue in cheek” side to the story.
