Dan grew up in a small harbor town in Connecticut, located on the Long Island Sound. It was there that he started painting at the age of 12. His senses were heightened by the world around him. The colors and textures of nature were instilled in Dan at an early age.

Being entirely self taught has enabled him to develop a unique style of his very own and has allowed him to become an award winning contemporary realist.

By the early 70’s he was having numerous one-man shows and was represented by several galleries in Southern Connecticut. His work is in several collections throughout New England with sales ranging from California to Rio de Janeiro.

The 80’s brought several changes to Dan’s art career. Though still living in Connecticut, he was exhibiting at the Grand Central Art Gallery in New York City. During that time he was selected by the gallery Director as one of 29 “artists of our times” to exhibit in a display of an exceptional collection of fine paintings by contemporary American Artists at the Boca Raton Hotel and Club in Florida. The warm southern climate prompted his move to Florida in 1985 where he still resides with his wife Barbara in Longwood. Dan is a member of the Mount Dora Center for the Arts, The Maitland Art Center and was a resident artist at the Gallery on First in Sanford from 2008 – 2010. He has exhibited at the Casselberry City Hall, Gallery at Avalon Island, CityArts Factory and was invited to show at the 2008 Winter Park Art Festival. He was also featured in the 2008 Issue of Orlando Arts magazine.

In the 90’s, Dan started incorporating the use of photographs more and more into his paintings. He found that painting from photos was becoming the majority of his commissioned work. People wanted to preserve beautiful and memorable moments in their lives with a family heirloom; family portraits, treasured pets, unforgettable moments and places they have been.

His 55 years of painting experience has enabled him to become one of our finest fine art painters of people, pets and places.

Commissions are always graciously accepted.
