Bill Moran
Bill was born and raised in New York City and was a long-time resident of Connecticut until relocating to Florida in 2006. In 1990, he chose to devote himself to painting on a full-time basis. He studied for several years in the Silvermine School of Art in New Canaan, Connecticut, and since then has shown his work in hundreds of art exhibits in the Northeast and Florida. His work is in collections throughout the United States.
During the past twenty years, Bill has seved as an officer on the boards of many art associations and recently retired from the Gallery Curator position in the Gateway Center for the Arts in DeBary. He continues to serve on Gateway's Visual Arts Committee.
A representational artist, Bill works exclusively in acrylic. He is most at home working from his imagination on what he calls his "People Pictures" celebrating people who never were and events that never happened. He captures on canvas an overall gesture and rhythm, depicting a swirl of activity captured in light and shadow, providing mood and tempo conveying vitality and energy to the viewer. His work is a "must see" at Art Affair Gallery.
