As a child I was mesmerized by the stained glass window panes in the house in upstate New York where I grew up.
My parents took me to The Corning Museum in Corning, NY in my early teens where seeing all of the glass and glass art there amazed and inspired me.
I began my adventure in Glass Blowing many years ago at Penland School of Crafts in North Carolina. Learning the techniques of glass blowing there got me totally hooked. I also traveled to St. Petersburg, FL to study glass and I met many glass blowers along the way, learning as much as I could from them.
Finally I took the big step of building my own studio. For many years, out of necessity, I learned to work alone blowing glass, which is very difficult to do because it is a two or three person activity.
