Born in Barbados and educated in Barbados and the US, Ruth moved to Orlando in 1980, with her husband and two small children where she started a business in ‘wearable art’.
In 1991 a job transfer took them back to the Caribbean and for the past 20 years have lived in Puerto Rico, where she had the opportunity to study porcelain painting, concentrating in the styles of Meissen, Dresden, Limoges, Flora Danica, and Herend. This medium of fine art had been of great interest.
Her latest challenge and excitement is painting in Acrylics with emphasis on Caribbean scenery. Her strong use of color is indicative of the wonderful light experienced there.
Now living stateside again, in Sanford Florida, with new scenic opportunities available, her horizons continue to expand.
Ruth’s work hangs in many private collections in Europe, UK, Caribbean and US.
